This blog will take you through the steps of installing a replacement window with a Masonry & Glass Systems carpenter crew.
In the first 2 photos you see the existing window. We used lead containment procedures to remove the existing window from its frame and all you see is the brick mold on the exterior on the next photo.
On photo #3 we are installing the new Restorations window from the interior and butting it up to the existing exterior trim.
Photo number 4 shows some of the care we use in installing a window in that each window is individually leveled after it is in the opening. A level window will properly open and close and will perform as it is designed. We come across many windows that have failed because they were forced open and closed because they were installed out of level.
The next picture illustrates that after the window is leveled and only after that it is screwed to the existing trim.
Picture # 6 shows a close up of how the window looks from the interior after it is installed. Please note that it fits tight to the existing trim. This is because the Sunrise windows are custom designed for each job and each opening. Masonry & Glass uses two measurements before a window is ordered, one from our sales representative and the other from our installation foreman. This results in windows that fit tight and look professionally installed.
Photo #7 is the exterior finished product after it has been wrapped in aluminum coil and caulked with white silicone. The last photo is of the finished interior, a new window that will brighten the inside of the residence and start saving the client money instead of the old windows costing them money.
