Glass Block Windows: Replacing a Picture Window

Masonry & Glass Systems installs many glass block windows for the bathroom, but one of the most distinctive is when we replace a picture window in a bath with glass block. These before pictures show 2 picture windows where the seal has failed.  Seal failure in bathrooms can be common as that is the room that sees the greatest temperature and humidity changes in a home. Replacing with glass block solves seal failure issues as well as changes the need for window shades or drapes that block light.

This installation of glass block includes our vinyl wrap system that uses a white vinyl frame that holds the glass block and the the frame is screwed to the jambs. This permits a professional look that attaches the glass block to structure. Mortar does not stick to wood and so this installation technique is the professional way to install glass block in a home where brick does not surround the window.
